Purpose.
Usually when I meet new people, one of the first questions I ask them is, what do you think the purpose of life is? Why are we here?
I mean it on a very personal level, like why are you here? I tend to try to get very involved in people’s lives, because I think that everyone has something very special about them and most peoples minds are filled with so much.
I’m not looking to try to attack their beliefs, or get them to believe anything that I believe. I’m just so damn curious as to why people do the things they do; where does their ambition come from? Or lack of? What gives their lives purpose. What makes them get out of bed in the morning and actually TRY.
So far I’ve gotten a great variety of answers. It seems like no one has the same answer. The only answer I refuse to accept is “I don’t know”. So I’d like to ask you all this question as well:
What do you think the purpose of life is? If you end up having a child, and that child looks up at you one day and says, “Daddy?(Mommy?) Why are we here?” What are you going to say to them? I hope it isn’t “I don’t know.”
